Cheese Sauce Recipe with Real Cheese Flavor
If you are looking for a cheese sauce recipe for cauliflower,
broccoli, carrots or just about any other veggie, you've come to
the right place.
The kids may actually eat thier vegetables tonight and you won't
mind them so much either.
You will
need the following ingredients:
- 3 Tbs of easy blending flour for gravy and sauces (regular flour
works also)
- 5 pieces of medium to old cheddar cheese (use McLaren Imperial Cheese if you can find it)
- 1 1/2 c of milk
- 2 Tbs of butter
- FIRST melt the butter on medium heat in pan.
- Now add flour and blend together. Coat flour with butter.
- Add the milk, and wait for mixture to thicken a bit. Hand blend
with a fork, while it thickens
- Add the cheese, 1-2 slices at a time
- After it melts, turn heat to low
This cheese sauce is best served without reheating. How cheesy this sauce is depends on how many cheese slices you use.
If it is too strong for your taste, add a little more milk.
A great recipe tip is to NEVER add flour alone to a hot mixture, it will
create lumps.
