How to Make Brown Gravy with Great Flavor Everyone will Love
Learning how to make brown gravy has never been so simple. Sure to be a hit at Christmas or
Thanksgiving Dinner.
This easy brown gravy recipe is the perfect way to start a tasty stew. You'll
think of all kinds of ways to use this recipe.
If you used the
Quick Pot Roast Recipe
then take the roast out of the pot and mix ingredients with a
hand blender.This chops everything up. You may have to tilt the pot on it's side to make a deeper liquid.
Tip:Try putting the pot in the kitchen sink while mixing to minimize clean up.
Now in a Tupperware Quick Shake container add 2 tsp of bisto traditional gravy mix and 2 tsp of cornstarch
into 3oz of warm water (markings are on the container). Mix vigorously and add to pot.
On medium heat stir until it reaches desired thickness. If the brown gravy becomes too thick just add some warm water.
If not thick enough mix some additional cornstarch with a little warm water and add to gravy.
IMPORTANT NOTE: don't add cornstarch, flour or bisto directly to gravy. This is the major cause of lumps.
HOW TO MAKE BROWN GRAVY WITHOUT ANY PAN DRIPPINGS:
Start with 1/2 can of chicken broth in place of pan drippings. Put it in a pot.
Now mix 1 tsp of cornstarch and 1 tsp of bisto traditional gravy mix to the 1/4 C of WARM water.
Tip:If the water is warm it mixes better.
Quick tip:If you make this mixture in a Tupperware Quick Shake container it will never create lumps.
Add mixture to pot with chicken broth and keep stirring on medium heat. Keep an eye on this as it thickens. Control the
thickness by adding more cornstarch. ALWAYS mix it with a little warm water in the Quick Shake container
first. If you just add it directly, you will get lumps.
