How to use eyelash curlers to get the best results
Figuring out how to use eyelash curlers can be a painful experience. Follow these guidelines to get a natural looking curl everytime.
One of the best tips for eyelash growth or regrowth is to use Mavala Eye-Lite Double Lash, just apply it
before bed each night. This is the best treatment to keep eyelashes strong as well. (too bad they don't have shampoo)
Tips on choosing an eyelash curler:
Maybelline used to make the BEST eyelash curler, you can still get the rubber refills, but we haven't been able to locate the actual curler.
La Cross makes one like it, but it has a much cheaper feel.
The plastic eyelash curlers do not work near as well as the metal eyelash curlers.
The heated eyelash curlers are very hard on your eyelashes, for everyday use.
- Always start with clean dry eyelashes.
Don't leave mascara on all night. Trying to curl eyelashes that have had mascara left on them results in eyelash pulling because the mascara sticks to the eyelash curler and takes eyelashes with it. This can also lead to breakage. Yes, just like your hair, eyelash care is important to have healthy and full eyelashes.
- Always start about 1/4 of the way down from the tips of your eyelashes, now gently squeeze. Do this two more times, moving 1/4 of the way down each time.
Most people pinch themselves by trying to curl too close to the eyelid, this can be painful and isn't necessary.
DON'T SQUEEZE TOO HARD, this results in an unnatural kinked look.
- Try pushing up on them gently while the first thin coat of mascara is drying. Careful not to push them into your eyeshadow or the mascara will come off and make a mess, which is difficult to fix (neatly).
Sometimes eyelashes can lose curl after applying mascara, this happens because of the weight of the mascara.
