Create Larger Eyes with a Makeup Tip for Small Eyes

The right makeup tip for small eyes can change your whole look and get those eyes noticed.

  • If you have dark circles apply a concealer with a small makeup brush and don't forget in the corner between your eye and nose.
  • Tips for Applying Eyeliner

  • Start by applying white eyeliner on the inner rim of the bottom lid.
  • This adds to the appearance of the white of your eye so it seems larger and helps make the eye look less tired.

  • Apply liner on the top lid starting where your iris begins and stop where your iris ends.
  • Don't make this line too thick or it will look odd. Stick to dark colors that blend with lashes, like navy blue and black. Just doing it in the center actually opens your eye.

  • Apply bottom eyeliner on the lash line from where your iris begins to the outer corner of your eye. Make the line fine with the thickest part being in the middle under your iris.
  • Tips for Applying Eyeshadow

  • Light colored eyeshadows work best to open up your eye, the lightest color should be in the center of your eyelid.
  • Curl your eyelashes
  • When curling your eyelashes, a great tip is to do it in thirds or even quarters so there is a natural looking curl instead of a dent.

  • Put a light coat of mascara on and gently push on the eyelashes (careful not to let the lashes touch your lid or you'll mess up your eyeshadow) as the mascara dries.
  • This helps the eyelashes hold the curl with the weight of the mascara. How the thin, first coat dries is important for the overall curl. The weight of mascara always weighs down the lashes, so help them out. This really is a great tip on how to apply eye makeup, that can make a huge difference.

  • Focus mascara on the center and outer lashes, be sure to get the very ends.
